My Story

My career began in the world of accounting and finance. One day, I had an “ah-ha moment”, and I knew I wanted to return to my first true interest – technology. I returned to school and completed my undergraduate degree and went on to obtain a Masters in Education Technology with certificates in online learning and technology integration.

While completing my studies, I came across a process and way of thinking that entailed prioritizing the learner above all else; one which ensures that students have access to the resources they need to retain information, apply lessons and ultimately excel. This discovery eventually led me to the Instructional Designer role. In taking the title from author Cammy Bean, I too have coined myself as an “accidental instructional designer”. While the word accident may have a negative connotation for some, my “accident” ended up becoming a passionate desire to provide students with high quality learning opportunities.

As I design courses, tutorials, and webinars, I continue to enhance my skills and knowledge in adult learning theories, backwards design, and accessibility tools. I strive to help businesses reach their goals in securing knowledgeable employees.
